ARIA IN THE SNOW (2016-2021)
I wrote this little mess between the ages of 16-20. It saw me grow and change a few lifetimes between those handful of years and for that, I can’t hate it. This was originally published as a fanfiction but written as a stand-alone novel with a whole three-act plot structure to boot. I’m too lazy to change the names and hide that fact, and frankly, it’s pretty cool to write a not-half-bad novel as a teenager (and it even won some fandom awards back in the day 😎 ).
I’ve tried to be embarrassed by it but it was too much of a labor of love, with far too much research and passion behind it. I can’t believe I actually wrote the bulk (around 80k words) of it between the ages of 16-17, and I can’t even imagine writing a novel again at this point in my stunted writing career. One day I’ll write something just as long again, I know it, but I just have to work myself up to those heights once more.
Thank you to everyone who was a fan back in the day, and to the outpouring of love I still occasionally get all these years after by personal emails. It meant and still means absolutely everything to me. I could probably talk for hours on my processes, world-building, and notebook worth of notes—but I’m sure that’s the reality of every novelist. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you were an old fan and just want to talk about it. It would mean the world <3
