Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia   –  Library and Archives Assistant               

  • Upcoming

Emily Carr University of Art and Design Library + Learning Commons   –  Research Assistant                

  • Research Assistant who worked on the digital archival infrastructure of the Wosk Master Print Collection, migrating information from Arca to ECUAD’s AtoM database. Work included planning and hosting a Collective Description colloquium with printmakers, information professionals, and subject specialists. The project included extensive art research, creation of a custom art metadata schema using Dublin Core, and the use of Getty, RKD, and LOC vocabularies and authority records.

Music, Art and Architecture Library – Student Librarian

  • Worked as a reference librarian helping students, faculty, and other visitors with daily research queries regarding music, art, architecture, and other holdings of the library. Involves the use of the UBC Library Catalog, indexes and databases, journals, and research guides.

UBC Libraries – Records Management Assistant                    

  • Created and implemented a records management system for the Ceremonies and Events Office at UBC. Involved restructuring a shared drive by attaching retention codes to files for later disposition, reorganizing top-level folders, teaching staff about new standards with engaging lessons, and writing a personalized file naming convention.

Alma Mater Society Archives  – Archives Assistant / Records Management Assistant

  • In charge of routine records management of all current and archived material of the Alma Mater Society at UBC. Assists daily in retrieval/research, capturing documents of AMS board activities, constituencies, and club activity, managing confidential records, and overseeing the integrity of both digital and physical records. Work done through Sharepoint, Onedrive, Lookeen, HTTrack, Adobe Suite, and other data capturing and management software. 

Historic Northampton  – Archives Assistant                                          

  • Assisted in everyday behind-the-scenes archival work in a former Historic House museum. In charge of processing the “Florence Pro-Brush Co. Photographic Collection”.  Watch my work here.

Forbes Library Special Collections and Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library – Collections Assistant     

  • Assisted special collections in managing local history and genealogical archives of Forbes Library and the adjacent Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library. Work included digitally scanning and archiving photography and other documents on paper, organizing incoming materials into both physical and digital databases (PastPerfect, Omeka), and finding archival and microfilm materials for public education and academic use. Experience also included care, cleaning, and preservation of glass slides, negatives, and other analog photography.


EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS

"Laura’s Story": The Untold Story of Smith College’s First On-Campus Suicide

  • Archives Capstone research project exploring the unknown life behind Smith College’s first on-campus suicide. Research included hundreds of hours of archive research around the state. This public-facing history project was exhibited through the creation of a WordPress website.

AP Research Essay          

  • Year-long research project exploring the connection of Sappho to the un-translated works of Renée Vivien. Project involved extensive work in the French language and culminated in a 25-page thesis with 30-minute presentation and questioning from board of educators.


PROFESSIONAL PROJECTS

Hatch Art Gallery

Collection Management Coordinator · August 2023 - Present

  • Helps coordinate cataloging and collection management for the AMS Permanent Collection, including paintings by major Canadian artists such as E.J. Hughes and Lawren Harris. Created AMS Permanent Collection Bibliography of Artists, aided in obtaining copyright from artists and their estates, and is developing the Hatch Art Gallery Collection Policy.

Florence Pro-Brush Photographic Collection                                                 

  • Created a working sous-fonds of a former manufacturer's photographic collection. Spanning over a hundred years and thousands of photographs, work included organizing loose photos to preservation to final finding guide for 14 document boxes (5.8 Linear Feet).

100th Anniversary Calvin Coolidge Notification Day Exhibit

  • Online exhibit created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Notification Ceremony in Northampton on July 27, 1920. Made through Omeka for Forbes Library utilizing their special collections, with over 100 photographs and transcription of speeches.

Judd Manuscript Transcription                                              

  • Digitally transcribed sections of the early-mid 19th-century manuscripts of Sylvester Judd for Forbes Library. Work included the study of 19th-century handwriting.

Mellon Summer Academy at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

  • One of 15 undergraduate students selected for a competitive program. Included behind-the-scenes tours, talks, workshops, and networking with museum professionals.

  • Co-curated a virtual exhibition, based on photographs from the Marjorie and Leonard Vernon Collection at LACMA and presented the exhibition to Michael Govan (the museum's Director), the donor's family, and staff.

Juxtaposition Project          

  • Curated winning project of Smith College Museum of Art’s Juxtaposition Display 2019, involving gender and class divisions present in the school and society during the time.

Rare Book School — 2024 Directors’ Scholarship

  • The RBS Directors’ Scholarship is an award given to approximately 20 first-time RBS students each year. RBS invites applications from those whose work is centered in the book, its materials and history. Each year, RBS receives more than 100 applications for this scholarship from highly qualified applicants.
